Altcoin explained
Alternative coin
Quick definition: Altcoins are all coins other than Bitcoin, for example ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE.
Altcoins are usually more volatile than BTC: rising faster when the market is strong and falling harder when it is weak.
"Altcoin season" (altseason) is a period when money flows from BTC into altcoins, causing many altcoins to outperform.
Major risks of altcoins: low liquidity, token unlock schedules, abandoned projects. Do your research before investing.
💡 Example
📊 View data for each coin →In a week when BTC rises 5%, many altcoins rise 20–30%. When BTC falls 10%, those altcoins can fall 25–40%.
