Trump Media Moves 4,259 BTC ($342M) to Crypto.com Ahead of Nov 30 Debt Put

Wallets tied to Trump Media sent 4,259 BTC, worth about $342 million, to Crypto.com on Nov 5. The amount nearly matches its convertible-note collateral, and noteholders can demand cash on Nov 30.

Wallets that Arkham attributes to Trump Media & Technology Group sent a combined 4,259 BTC to Crypto.com on Thursday, Nov 5, at around 02:17 UTC. At prices at the time of the transfers, the coins were worth roughly $342 million to $344 million.
The company has not said why the bitcoin moved. What caught traders' attention is that the amount almost exactly matches the bitcoin pledged against its $1 billion convertible notes, just weeks before noteholders can demand cash repayment on Nov 30.
Key takeaways
- Size: 4,259 BTC in two transfers of about 2,140 BTC and 2,119 BTC, worth roughly $342 million.
- Source wallets: Arkham labels both wallets "2028 Convertible Notes Collateral."
- Debt pressure: Noteholders can require Trump Media to repurchase the notes for cash on Nov 30, up to about $1 billion.
- Confirmed: On-chain data shows the coins landed at a Crypto.com address.
- Not confirmed: There is no evidence yet that Trump Media sold the bitcoin.
How the transfer unfolded
On-chain tracker Lookonchain was first to ask publicly whether Trump Media was dumping BTC. Arkham data shows two transfers of 2,140.03 BTC and 2,119.31 BTC, both sent to the same Crypto.com address.
According to Coin Bureau, the wallet had been dormant for about three months. Including this move, it has sent roughly 9,540 BTC to Crypto.com so far in 2026.
This is not the first time Trump Media-linked wallets have moved coins to the exchange:
- May: 2,650 BTC, about $205 million. The company later said it was part of its trading strategy, not a sale.
- Early August: 2,628 BTC, about $165 million. A spokesperson again denied a sale and called it custody management.
- Nov 5: 4,259 BTC, about $342 million. No official explanation yet.
Crypto.com and Anchorage Digital both serve as custody partners for Trump Media's bitcoin, so a transfer to the exchange does not by itself mean the coins were sold.
Why Nov 30 matters
Trump Media issued $1 billion in convertible notes in May 2025, raising $960 million in gross proceeds. In a Nov 2 SEC filing, it disclosed that noteholders can demand cash repayment on Nov 30, 2026.
The filing warned that existing cash and available financing may not be enough if every eligible holder exercises that right. Management listed refinancing, new borrowing and equity raises as options, and said it may need to sell bitcoin or other digital assets if those fall short.
The company's June 30 financial statements broke down its bitcoin as follows:
- Unpledged digital assets: 9,477.16 BTC.
- Convertible-note collateral: 4,260.73 BTC, within about 1.4 BTC of the amount just moved.
- Options-strategy collateral: 2,077.34 BTC.

Under the filing, the pledged coins are restricted until no later than May 29, 2028. That suggests the move may be tied to an arrangement with noteholders, though the company has not confirmed this.
What it means for crypto markets
The news lands as BTC trades near $80,300 after a dip toward $75,600 during the US midterm election count. Spot bitcoin ETFs also returned to net inflows of $74.6 million on Nov 4, following three sessions that pulled about $1.16 billion.

- Bull case: The move is a custody step or part of using BTC as collateral for refinancing. In that case no new supply hits the market and sentiment can steady.
- Risk case: Trump Media sells some or all of the 4,259 BTC to raise cash for the notes. Roughly $342 million is larger than the ETF net inflow on Nov 4, which could weigh on prices short term and revive concerns about leveraged treasury companies.
The episode is also a reminder of the risk in the debt-funded bitcoin treasury model: when prices fall and repayment dates approach, BTC can become the liquidity of last resort.
What to watch next

- Spot bitcoin ETF flows, especially after IBIT still saw $201.2 million in outflows on Nov 4.
- Price swings and forced selling on our real-time liquidations page, plus macro dates on the economic calendar.
