Strive bought 4,045 BTC between Oct 12 and 16 at an average of about $82,803, funded by $369 million in warrant exercises. Roughly $630 million more is due from its SATS preferred offering.

Nasdaq-listed Strive (ASST) said it bought 4,045 BTC between Oct 12 and Oct 16 for about $335 million. The purchase was disclosed in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, Oct 19.
The coins were acquired at an average of roughly $82,803 each, including fees. Strive now holds 36,818 BTC, worth about $3 billion at current prices, making it the fourth-largest corporate bitcoin holder among public companies.
Key takeaways
- Purchase: 4,045 BTC for about $335 million at an average of ~$82,803.
- Holdings: 36,818 BTC, up from 32,773 BTC a week earlier.
- Funding: About $369.2 million raised from warrant exercises on Oct 12–13.
- Next capital: About $630 million from the 15% SATS preferred offering, settling Oct 20.
- BTC price: Around $81,900 at 23:50 UTC on Oct 19, below this batch's average cost.
Inside the purchase and the funding
According to the filing, Strive bought in two tranches. The most recent 1,223 BTC, acquired Oct 14–16, averaged about $81,734, as bitcoin slid after hot U.S. inflation data.
Most of the cash came from warrants. On Oct 12 and 13, investors exercised about 273.5 million warrants for 13.7 million new Class A shares, bringing in roughly $369.2 million. Participation was about 94%, and the rest expired on Oct 13.

Class A shares outstanding rose from 101.2 million to 114.8 million, or about 13.5%. Cointelegraph noted that holdings grew roughly in step with the share count, leaving bitcoin per share largely unchanged.
Strive ended the week with about $317.5 million in cash. ASST shares rose about 7.7% to $25.95 in late-morning trading on Monday, per Yahoo Finance data cited by Cointelegraph.
SATS preferred stock and the pace of buying
On Oct 15, Strive priced an upsized offering of 7 million shares of its SATS perpetual preferred stock at $90 each. The $15 annual dividend works out to about 16.7% for buyers at that price.
The deal is set to settle on Oct 20 with expected gross proceeds of about $630 million. Strive said the money is for general corporate purposes, including additional bitcoin purchases.
- Start of 2026: about 7,525 BTC.
- Week before Oct 12: bought 3,311 BTC (about $280 million), reaching 32,773 BTC.
- Oct 12–16: bought 4,045 BTC, reaching 36,818 BTC.
On the same day, Strategy disclosed a much smaller buy of 267 BTC (about $22 million), bringing it to 848,517 BTC, while spending $193 million to repurchase its STRC preferred stock.
What it means for crypto markets
A $335 million weekly bid is notable, but it has not lifted prices: BTC remains stuck between roughly $81,000 and $83,000. Decrypt points to oil near $108 and U.S. bond yields around 5% as the main weights on risk assets.
- Bull case: If the $630 million from SATS is deployed into BTC over the coming weeks, it adds steady corporate demand while ETF flows remain uneven.
- Risk case: High-yield preferred stock creates heavy dividend obligations. MSCI has also finalized rules that could drop "non-operating" companies from its indexes as of Nov 30, pressuring treasury firms.
With Strategy slowing its purchases and focusing on STRC buybacks, Strive is emerging as one of the more active bitcoin buyers among listed companies.
